About me

About me

Lisa Maclean

I am Lisa Maclean, a certified Iyengar yoga teacher. I have been practising yoga since 2002 and teaching professionally since 2016. I have training and experience in several yoga traditions, but in 2013 my main path became Iyengar yoga due to its precision, depth and transformative power. Since gaining my certification in 2019, I have lived in the beautiful Sierra de la Alpujarra, in southern Spain. Here I teach group classes, private sessions, online classes and offer yoga and hiking retreats.

My goal is to share the joy of yoga with as many people as possible, so that they can benefit from the practice as much as I have.

«No matter where life takes you – yoga can always be your anchor to the space within.»

Authentic teaching

More than 20 years of practice and certified training in the Iyengar method, recognised for its precision and depth.

Benefits

Benefits that transcend the mat

Strength and vitality

The Iyengar method develops strength in a progressive and sustainable way. Each posture is held with precise alignment, activating the muscles consciously and safely.

Posture and alignment

Precision is the pillar of Iyengar yoga. You learn to align your body correctly in every asana, improving your posture on the mat and in your daily life.

Flexibility and balance

Through methodical sequences and the use of props, flexibility and balance are worked on in a way that is adapted to each body, without forcing or comparing, simply enjoying the experience.

Calm and mental wellbeing

The slow, conscious practice of Iyengar fosters concentration, reduces accumulated tension and improves our breathing, bringing greater serenity.

My training and trajectory

My yoga practice began in 2002, which has allowed me to build a solid and experienced foundation. Over the years I have explored different yoga traditions, but it was in 2013 that I discovered the Iyengar method was my path. Its emphasis on precise alignment, the use of props and methodical progression convinced me of its transformative value.

In 2016 I began teaching professionally, and in 2019 I certified as an Iyengar yoga teacher, meeting the rigorous standards of this tradition. Since then, my commitment has been to share this practice with integrity and dedication.

Single Point Yoga in the Alpujarra

The Granada Alpujarra is an exceptional environment for the practice of yoga. Its mountainous landscapes, its pure air and its tranquil rhythm create the ideal conditions for deepening the practice and finding true rest.

In the area there is no other Iyengar yoga teacher, which makes Single Point Yoga a unique reference for those seeking this tradition in the Alpujarra. Although there are other retreat centres in the area, none offers the Iyengar methodology with the precision and rigour that characterises my teaching.

Your conscious retreat awaits you

Disconnect from the noise and immerse yourself in a serene, healing yoga experience, surrounded by the nature of the Alpujarra.
