Iyengar Yoga in the Alpujarra

I am Lisa Maclean, a certified Iyengar yoga teacher. I have been practising yoga since 2002 and teaching professionally since 2016.

Since gaining my Iyengar yoga certification in 2019, I have lived in the beautiful Sierra de la Alpujarra, in southern Spain, where I combine more than two decades of personal practice with the precise training and integrity of the Iyengar method.

My classes are open to people of all ages and levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. Here you will find clear guidance, personalised attention and the opportunity to develop a sustainable yoga practice that integrates into your daily life.

Authentic teaching

More than 20 years of practice and certified training in the Iyengar method, recognised for its precision and depth.

Yoga retreats and holidays

Multi-day retreats in rural settings in Spain. Yoga, hiking, nature and delicious food in small groups. An experience to connect with yourself, with others and with Mother Nature.

Private classes

One-to-one personalised sessions, adapted to your specific goals and needs. Ideal if you are looking for exclusive attention, have physical limitations or prefer to deepen your practice at your own pace.

Beyond the posture

Calm for the body, stillness for the mind

Yoga does not only transform the body: it also has a profound effect on the mind. In my yoga and hiking retreats, for example, we combine an active, intense class in the morning with a relaxing, restorative session in the evening. This duality allows us to release accumulated tension in the body and, at the same time, calm the nervous system.

Through restorative yoga and pranayama techniques (conscious breathing), we learn to slow down the mental pace, to let go of anxiety and to recover a state of inner balance. It is an invitation to stop doing, in order to start feeling.

Your conscious retreat awaits you

Disconnect from the noise and immerse yourself in a serene, healing yoga experience, surrounded by the nature of the Alpujarra.

Frequently asked questions

Your doubts, resolved

Quick answers to the most common questions about classes, retreats and how I can accompany you on your yoga path.

What should I bring to my first yoga class?

You only need comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. I provide all the necessary props (blocks, straps, blankets, chairs) typical of the Iyengar method. If you have your own mat, you may bring it, although I also have them available.

Yes, absolutely. The Iyengar method is especially recommended for beginners because its focus on precise alignment and the use of props (blocks, straps, blankets) allows every posture to be adapted to your body and level. My classes are designed to welcome people of all ages and physical conditions, with no previous experience required.

Yes, I recommend booking your place in advance, as the number of participants per class is limited to ensure personalised attention for each student. You can contact me by phone, email or through the contact form to check availability and secure your spot.

If you cannot attend a class you have booked, please let me know as far in advance as possible. This way I can offer your place to someone else. In general, if you notify me at least 24 hours in advance, we can find a solution: recover the class at another time or apply it to a future session. Please check the specific conditions when booking.
